Originating from the southwest of Lake Maracaibo, Venezuela, Porcelana is considered to be the purest expression of Criollo cacao.
Probably the world’s finest and most valuable cacao, its name comes from the white, almost translucent colour of the mature pods.
Fragile and highly vulnerable to diseases and pests, Porcelana almost disappeared, replaced by less demanding and more profitable crops. It remains extremely rare today.
Its delightful delicacy, perfect harmony and sweetness have led it to be considered as a veritable Grail among connoisseurs.
