Located 150 km north of Venezuela, the island of Grenada boasts an exceptional volcanic terroir. On its fertile lands, farmers cultivate the beans that are the origin of our 70% dark chocolate: L’Esterre 70.
Renowned for its spices, the island offers rich and fertile soil that gives this cocoa its unique character.
L’Esterre Estate has been owned by the Ramdhanny family for over 70 years. The single estate is located in the northeast of the island, on the outskirts of the rainforest.
The family grows cocoa and nutmeg in strict accordance with the rules of organic agriculture and agroforestry, thus maintaining the richness and fertility of the soil.
The farmers harvest the beans between November and April, then ferment them on site for 7 to 8 days before drying them in the sun for 6 to 7 days.
This 70% dark chocolate is the result of a mastered bean-to-bar craftsmanship, from the bean to the bar. It reveals the full potential of a unique terroir, elevated by ORFÈVE’s expertise.
