The Solomon Islands Kingdom stretches east of Papua New Guinea. It comprises a thousand islands and islets, forming a land area barely larger than Switzerland. It is from this archipelago that the beans for our 90% dark chocolate, Matepono 90, originate.
In recent years, small family cacao farms have gradually replaced large oil palm plantations. Still little known, Solomon Islands cacao captivates with the rarity and subtlety of its complex varietal profile
David Junior Kebuâs cacao plantation is located in the northeast of Guadalcanal Island. It is located near the town of Honiara. Set on the banks of the Matepono River, the family farm is distinguished by the quality of the care taken in fermentation, drying and bean selection. This work earned it a gold medal at the International Cocoa Awards in 2015.
With this 90% dark chocolate Matepono 90 crafted bean-to-bar, ORFĂVE conveys the pure taste of a terroir and the rigor of artisanal craftsmanship.
