Behind the Scenes at Orfève
At Orfève, everything begins with a simple principle: respect the cacao.
Respect its origin, its nature, its complexity. Never impose on it,only do everything possible to reveal what it truly is.
Our world is not that of marketing-driven chocolate. It is one of pure taste, raw material, and mastered craftsmanship.
Each bar we create is the result of extreme attention paid to every stage:
– selecting beans from committed producers,
– controlled fermentation and drying at origin,
– gentle roasting adapted to each origin,
– slow refining, tailor-made conching,
– and small-batch production in our Geneva-based manufacture.
An artisanal approach… with Swiss-level precision
Orfève is a rare alliance between craftsmanship and Swiss precision.
No compromises: we work without lecithin, without flavorings, without added foreign fats.
Only exceptional beans, cocoa butter, and sometimes unrefined sugar. Nothing more.
Our recipes are intentionally minimalist. But this simplicity is a discipline: it demands flawless execution, where every detail counts. The slightest temperature shift, the tiniest over-refining, and the balance is lost.
This is our definition of excellence.
We don’t seek to flatter the palate. We strive to reveal the most authentic expression of each bean, and to honor those who grew, sorted, fermented, and dried it.
Because for us, a great chocolate is, above all, one that keeps its promises.
To taste. To nature. To the people.
A taste that speaks to your inner ear
We don’t seek unanimous praise.
An Orfève chocolate doesn’t always please from the first square: it unsettles, surprises, sometimes provokes.
But it strikes true. It leaves a trace. And above all, it respects the one who tastes it.
The world of Orfève is this:
– A constant pursuit of precision,
– Deep respect for origin,
– Demanding, unadorned craftsmanship,
– And a genuine emotion in every bite.
